The Celtic Church in Scotland, comprising of The Celtic Apostolic Church and The Celtic Order of St Adamnan, is presided over by our Bishop Primus,
Bishop Dr David Stalker and comprises of the Celtic Apostolic Church,
overseen by Bishop Norman Mcleod and the Celtic
Order of St Adamnan, where candidates for the Priesthood within
the Church are trained under the tutorage of Abbot
Julian Roache.
Although Christian, the Celtic Church had no links with the Pauline movement which would later become known as the Roman Catholic and Protestant Chuches and their Apostolic succession.
The Celtic Church's roots are really two-fold, Judaic Essenic coupled with the best that the ancient British religion had to offer, Druidism. It is not for nothing that the ancient motto of the Celtic Church proclaimed "Christ is my Druid" .
It was, moreover, as in the British and Judaic traditions, hereditary. This means that, just as in Jerusalem, where the High Priesthood remained within the same family and passed from father to son in many instances, the same applied to Celtic Bishops in Britain.
Although the Celtic Church first made its appearance in Britain in the year 37 AD, it was not before the year 62 AD that the exiled High Priesthood from Jerusalem, when finally settling for ever in Britain, would reform into a European Judaic Church with a touch of the Hellenistic Liberalism of the Greek influence within the Levant, the land of the East.
Infant baptism simply did not exist, unless the life of the child was deemed to be in danger. Holy Communion was celebrated for the people only once a year, at the Jewish Festival of Passover, which became the Celtic Easter Festival. British Gods and Godesses became part of the Celtic Saints hierarchy, one of the most prominent being Saint Bridged, or Bride. Today, the Celtic Apostolic Church is comprised of the trained clergy of the Celtic Church in Scotland.
